SporeLog
Turn your state's paper sterilization logbook into a digital one. Pick the trades you run, whether tattoo and body art, permanent makeup and microblading, or body piercing, and SporeLog builds the right logbook: spore tests, autoclave cycles, an OSHA compliance section, equipment maintenance, and trade-specific consent. It reminds you before anything is due and hands an inspector a clean, dated PDF in one tap.
Standout feature
Pick your state and SporeLog sets the spore-test cadence, record retention, and required fields to match the rule. Then pick your trades and it adds the matching consent and record types.
Features
Built around the trades you run
Choose tattoo and body art, PMU and microblading, and/or piercing when you set up, and switch any time in Settings. SporeLog shows exactly the record types those trades need and nothing they don't, all in one shared sterilization logbook.
State-aware schedule and retention
Choose your state and the app sets the spore-test cadence, how long each record is kept, and which fields are required to match that rule. A built-in generic profile covers states that are not listed, so you are never blocked.
Spore test log with a failed-test workflow
Log each mail-in biological spore test as Pass, Fail, or Pending against an autoclave ID. A failed result opens the corrective-action steps: reprocess every load since the last passing test, mark affected clients notified, and record the re-test.
Autoclave cycle log
Record each sterilizer cycle with load contents, temperature, pressure, exposure time, the chemical-indicator result, and whether packages were labeled with the date and initials.
Equipment maintenance log
Keep a service history for your sterilizer and instrument-cleaning equipment: the date, what was done (a gasket change, a descale, an annual validation), and who did it. It sits alongside the autoclave cycle log, so the upkeep an inspector or a warranty claim asks about is on the record.
Bloodborne Pathogen training
Keep each staff member's BBP training on file with its expiry date and provider, attach the certificate photo, and get a reminder before it lapses.
Trade-specific consent and records
Capture a signed consent for each procedure with needle or cartridge and ink lot numbers for tattoo, pigment lots and patch tests for PMU, and jewelry and needle lots for piercing, so single-use items stay traceable in a recall.
OSHA compliance section
A named OSHA Compliance section on the dashboard keeps your bloodborne-pathogen records together in one place: BBP training, sharps disposal with the vendor or method, and the OSHA exposure-incident and sharps-injury logs, each kept for as long as the rule requires. Your written Exposure Control Plan lives in the document vault alongside them.
One-tap inspection PDF
Produce a paginated, branded PDF with a cover page (business, license, state, reporting period, and a completeness summary) and a table for each record type. Failed tests are flagged, and the cover carries an audit-verification stamp.
Inspection mode
One screen built for the moment an inspector walks in: it shows whether you're inspection-ready, how many of your records the tamper-evident audit trail confirms are intact, and your required logs at a glance. Drill into any of them read-only, so you can hand over your phone without anything being changed. You can also log each inspection visit, with the date, the inspector, and the result, so your inspection history is on the record too.
Tamper-evident audit trail
Every record carries a SHA-256 hash-chained audit trail, so any edit is tracked and the log can be verified intact. A Verified badge shows the chain has not been altered.
Document vault
Store your license or permit, certificates, OSHA Exposure Control Plan, Safety Data Sheets, insurance, and waste-hauler contracts, each with an optional expiry or review reminder.
iCloud sync, reminders, and search
Your records sync automatically through your private iCloud, so a lost or replaced device does not lose them and the same Apple Account sees them on iPhone and iPad. Get reminders before records are due or training expires, search across every record type, and export a JSON backup any time.
